Im sure the engine would fit easily there the same engine pretty much, just differnt heads and intake. But can i ask why you want a 96-96 over a 99 and up? i guess price is a good answer.

So you have a 99 and want a 96-98 non PI engine? That makes sense [&:] Unless you get a killer deal on it, it's not even worth it. Because you will need PI heads and intake to get the SAME hp as your 99 had. If I was going to switch engines I would probally get a high milage 5.4 and rebuild it. That wouldn't be too expensive.

Yeah unless the deal is unbeatable, get a 99 and up GT motor. I mean, your sacrificing 45 horse buy swapping to a 96-98 and you'll need to buy the PI conversion kit to make up for it...
