Default Modified mod?

Hey, anyone out there feel their short throw shifter sits too far forward for comfort? When I get mine I'm wondering if there is a modified version or an adapter or something that can be put on it to bring the handle back farther/closer to the driver. I guess I'm worried because when I did test drives before I bought my 02 there was one stang that had a short shifter and it sat way too far forward. Anyone hear of an adapter or would I have to modify it myself?

my Steeda tri-ax sits right for me, not to forwar not to much posterior, just right, is great, quick short throw, I love it. If you are a dwarf, it may be a problem....too forward for you.

just machine yourself a new handle with a different angle that off sets it further to the back of the car

hmmm, no, no one has tossed me lately. I'm 6' with standard length arms. Maybe this is a better way to approach this. The stock shifter sits in just about the right place for my comfort. Any farther forward and I think I'd be reaching a little. How was the stock one for you and how different is the short throw placement?

the stock one is too damn long first, too "loose" and with a long throw......I'm telling you , it is a huge difference..........

i always hear of the pro 5.0's being too far forward so they switch to a tri-ax handle and leave the pro 5.0 base

Interesting...the handles just unscrew or unbolt and the other one fits?

pretty sure, but id ask someone who has done it. actually there's the "kona" shifter which is cheaper i think, but it has the pro 5.0 base and a tri-ax-like handle and i think its a little cheaper than the other two

I really want the one that is going to feel the best shifting and if I have to bring it back a little by modifying that's ok. I'm usually not happy with a cheap feel or look.
