Default Tranny / Engine knocking

i have had a post like this in the past and i heard the the problem might be the tranny mounts... but now i am gonna specify when this sound happens and maybe you guys will know what it is... ok , it sounds as if my transmission, or engine, or something, is shaking or wiggling around or knocking... all the same in my book... this happens when i am in 2nd or 3rd gear when i am at low RPMs and i just tap the gas really quickly... the car doesnt just do a little jolt type thing... but it sounds like the transmission or engine or whatever is moving around... it also happens if im going slow and im in 2nd or 1st gear about to stop and then i step on the clutch ... also if i switch gears at a low rpm...it shakes a little then too... im not sure if its a shaking sound , knocking sound, wiggling sound, but maybe ill get lucky and someone will know what im talking about and help me out... ive heard tranny mounts but maybe its something else... let me know what you guys think.... and whats this engine knocking i hear about... i dont think its that but what would an "engine knock" sound like ..

it sounds like something is slapping back and forth where do you hear it the loudest? front or back? your car has a knock sensor right? i don't think its motor related atleast internally. check your t/m mounts u-joints f/r swaybars. another thing find a back roadgo thru the gears then shut the car off becarefull!! then hit the brakes really hard see if you hear the noise.

This is typical noise from a 5 speed GT. My Ford Ranger & my GT do exactly what you are describing. You need to learn how to drive smoother. The reason why your car shakes at low rpms when you shift - you are out of the RPM band for that gear. You should really run each gear 1st & 2nd gear over 3,000 RPMS...EASE into the throttle at first and then smash it. I can make my car sound like a set of drums being beat by dicking around blipping the throttle and shifting at low RPMS. You have NOTHING to worry about, you just aren't operating your car correctly.

everyone is prob. right about this however I had a veryyy annoying noise similar to yours that noooo one could figure out, after like a month and a few diff inspections later it turned out to be a loose line right near the drive shaft and pretty much everytime I would stomp the gas it would hit the driveshaft yolk.
