Default good price???

I found a 2001 mustang gt, black, leather with 38,000 miles. they are asking$14,900 for it. they said they would go down to 13,500. that is still high from what kbb says. what would be a good price for this car? thanks.

Seems a bit pricey to me. Milage is about right, but Kelly Bluebook is a good place to look for the right price.

I would tell them $12.500 topps or no deal. Its really worth just under $12.000 But they have to make something on it of course. If they want the car to move, im sure they will give it to you for less. Just really need to know how to talk them down. Ive been there before... May take a while, but its worth it.

You answered your own question. KBB says less then it has to be much better then average to pay above book. It always comes down to how bad you want it and if your willing to risk losing it if you tell them you'll give less. Good luck!

you should be able to find the car for a bit cheaper than that...

if its a 01 with 38K , you should be looking in the 10-11,500K range

a year ago, which would make my car equivilant to a 00 for you THIS year, i got it with 48K for 9500..

so continue looking for a 99-01 in the 9K-12K range with nice mileage,, just DO NOT settle for something you dont want

i wouldn't pay a dime over 11k for it. unless it is completely perfect visually and mechanically.....and i mean no creases in the seats even.

i got my 00GT loaded 2 years ago for 12k with 24,000 miles on it.

so at the time of my purchase in relation to yours now. that's 1 year newer and 10,000 fewer miles for 2500 less.
