Default RE: idle going crazy

The RPMs holding at 1100 while the car is in motion is normal. I'm not having any idle problems at the moment (last time it stalled was in like September, I had just gone WOT for like 5-6 seconds through 2nd and part of third and put it in neutral and it stalled without me noticing... the brakes got soft and the steering became hard, scared the hell out of me, I thought I broke it already). When coming up to a stop, if I pull it into neutral and coast, the RPMs will hold at 1000-1100 till I come to a complete stop where it goes down to 775-800. I don't see why the Ford engineers want it this way, but that's the way it is.

i had the exact same problem, turned out to be a couple things. the program i was given for my sct2 was awesome, but when i bumped up the idle manually it started to do the hanging rpm deal and weird idel. so i switched it back to the stock idel and it was fine. then i installed my o/r h pipe and the same **** started again, so i switched back to the stock setting. if you have a programmer you may wanna change your settings a bit. almost seemed like a fuel probelm for me cause letting off the throttle would feel like dropping gears (it really jerked the car back)

PCV? EGR? AGR? IAC?

too many acronims!!!!
PCV= Positive Crankcase Ventelation valve. It releases air from the motor (a hose connected from your passenger valve cover into your plenum) when the pressure exceeds a certain amount.

EGR= Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve. It reburns exhaust gases to meet emissions. Attrached to the right end of the plenum

AGR= have no idea?

TSP= Throttle Position Sensor. It tells your computer what postion the throttle is open. Attached to the Throttle body

IAC= Idle Air Control valve. It controls how much air is allowed into your plenum when the throttle is closed, to keep it idling.

I wouldnt buy a TPS and IAC before you norrow it down, buy a DVOM (Digital VOlt Ohm Meter) a cheap one for like $20 and check it, I am sure your TPS is working, but may not be set correctly. But most likly its your IAC. Also buy your self a Haynes manual on your car and it shows you how to diagnos your sensor with your DVOM if its working properly or not. Saves you money in the long run
