I just bought a 96 gt that has sat for about a year in an inpound lot. It has over 140000 miles but runs great except the check engine lights keeps coming on, then after 3 engine turn ons turns off. Any help or suggestions.

Hmmmm, well that blows my recommendation out of the water. Did you change all fluids, clean the MAF, change filters, etc, since the car sat for so long.

 

yea like code said try cleaning all the sensors and change the oil and filters, why would you buy a car with that many miles anyway?

 

All fluids have been changed, filters etc. The check engine came on after I filled the tank with 92 octane and put fuel injector cleaner (Cheveron). Could it just be it sat too long and the computer either needs to be replaced or the car just has to relearn itself?
