a handheld tuner can do it for you or i think you can buy little plastic gears to switch out.

Should look into doing it soon since your adding excessive mileage too. I would get the Predator tuner becuase it does so many other things as well, and those speed calibrators I belive cost around 75-100, kind of a waste to me.

Yup... I'm going through this right now with my 96. You can either get the speedo corection gear (Don't do it, I did and it didn't help that much) or get a Speed Cal. I'm getting a Speed Cal for my B-Day and it's dead on from what I hear. $100 [:@] but it's better knowing it's right on...

did you check with the place where you got your gears installed to see if they possibly had a speed calibrater? When i was looking into gears for my 98 when I had it, the place i was going to get them installed at said they could calibrate my speedo for me if i got them installed there.

me and a buddy installed the gears, i called ford racing and they said the only way to get the speedo accurate was to replace the speedo gear inside the tranny..but will a speed calibrator (speedcal) work?

Yeah they work. I posted a thread just like this one like 2-3 weeks ago and got a bunch of feedback from people who own them and I've heard nothing but good things...
