Default Tranny Question

I just got my 02 GT 5spd. When its cold and you shift slow into 2nd and sometimes 3rd it makes a small grind sometimes (not always). After it warms up for a few mins then its totally fine. I obviously have the 3650 which i supposed to be better. I was reading in the sticky but there was no conclusive answer to whether thats an actual problem. I dont know a ton about ford manual trannys and its still under a 3k mile powertrain warrenty so if something is not right i wanna take it in and get it fixed while its free. thanks

TSB - (Technical Service Bulletin?)
It's basically a known issue with a particular vehicle. If you're under warranty, they'll fix it for free.

alright, thanks man, gay thing is i bought it from a dealer used thats a chrysler dealer so i have to go to a chrysler dealer for any warranty work.......maybe ill talk to the ford dealership n see what they think. just doesnt seem like anything should be wrong with only 38k and it doesnt do it all the time.

i found a link to the tsb and printed it off. ill go in n check it out soon here. It also doesnt wanna go into first (slowing down with the clutch in) until you get to lower speeds. that normal or not? also will grind if u try n put it in reverse while rolling forward any with the clutch all the way in. but if you put it in 1st while rolling backwards with the clutch in its fine. like i said im new just questions i have because i cant afford for something to be wrong and not take advantage of the warranty

thats normal with any manual ive driven, and for my stang itll grind if i force it in. i basically coast to a stop with the clutch in, go to second then up to first, and its smooth. im junking this tranny soon though, 2nd and 3rd are getting bad. maybe i suck at shifting.

Mine is on its third rebuild at a Ford dealership. They have had the car off and on since before Thanksgiving, and they still have it. Other dealerships I have talked to have said it is better to live with the problem then try to fix it. Just let it warm up before you start driving "spririted". The synchros are a mixture of materials including carbon fiber. If I had it to do all over again, I would NEVER of had anyone touch it! Just my little piece of advice.
