crate engine 97 GT
Hello all~
I have a 97 GT 5 speed. 109000 miles on it. I've had it at school and the shop I work at, and have inspected the living crap out of it and it is abolutely mint except for the engine and tranny. I do eventually want to do some racing with it (sanctioned track type) and I have decided on saving for a crate engine for it. It seems like a better investment (has warranty) than trying to rebuild one myself. I would like to get one that has forged internals so I could run a supercharger on it (but compression enough that I can run it w/o the blower until fundings allow it). Anyone know of a good place to get a crate engine, how much they charge and how much of the engine do I actually get. All I need is the rotating block, heads and intake. valve covers, oil pan, and headers will be put on by me anyway (custom).
Thanks all in advance
George

just off the top of my head, also check with a local performance shop they may have a better deal with a company they always deal with and get discounts maybe

RE: crate engine 97 GT
okay I checked out their website, and I am looking at the long block 4.6l that's $3795. What's anyone think of that? It looks like it comes with all the goodies already in it... seems like a fair deal. Anyone know what kind of warranty they offer?
I think that's a good deal for an engine that comes ready to rock and roll. It comes with all the stuff I would do to it already done.
