I really dont wanna fork out the money for a stall converter, and shift kit, so would keeping my auto the way it is do justice for adding mods and a tuner? With just the stock auto and bolt ons and gears with a tune and suspension work be good enough to put my auto in the 13's?

I'm sure with gears and bolt-ons you could get into the mid-high 13's. Some guy posted that he ran 13.6 with bolt ons and gears with no stall converter.

a shift kit is around a hundred bux and will make a dramatic difference in how your automatic shifts and hits the gears, for a hundred bux, i honestly feel that the shift kit is a neccesity.

K this might sound liked the biggest noob question of all time, but what does a shift kit do? I know nothing about auto trannies and have never driven one. I am assuming it adjusts what rpm the car shifts at???

Thanks guys. Is the shift kits for Mustangs they same as other cars? I've seen them where you can shift from like 1st to 4th manually and even put it in reverse as your driving and slam it back in drive to go forward again. Or maybe I'm just watching too much "Dukes of Hazzard". LOL.

I know, but what else am I gonna do after working from 12am to 8am or later, then going home, eating, sleeping until 4 or 5pm, eating again, showering and by that time its like 7pm. Waste of life. LOL. I wouldnt mind a shift kit, but are they easy to install?

I've never done any work on a car except, installing an intake, h-pipe, changing out a water pump, and pumping gas (LOL).
