2001 mustang gt

Forged internals
Vortech v2 s trim supercharger w/aftercooler
42 lb injectors
255 fuel pump
kenny bell booster pump

Blew bottom end 4 months ago. Put it into a local shop MAS.

They had the motor Rebuilt with all forged internals. Told me to take it easy for the first few thousand miles. I did just that. Took it back 3 days ago to have it tuned and put on the dyno. As soon as the car hit 4000 rpm it sounded like the motor was going to blow the entire car bogged down. The car above 4000 rpm was reading something like 180 hp. Where as before the blown bottom end the car was reading 405 hp at the wheels. Everything runs fine until high 3000 or 4000 rpm. The shop kept the car for two days before giving it back and saying we cant figure it out.

I feel so bad for you man. Im spending close to $1400 on my exhaust system, and Im freaking out because I don't want anything to go wrong, and I want to make sure it sounds perfect... I can't even imagine a blown engine worth 6 grand.

Best of luck to ya.

car immediatley boggs down @ 4000 rpm. I was told by the mechanic that the fuel is detonating before it is where it is supposed to be. I am not car stupid, but what the hell does that mean? DId someone install spark plugs in my fuel lines between the gas tank and the injectors?

Could it be a timing issue? Does it have the stock tune in it or something else left over from the last motor? I'm at a loss.

What kind of spark plugs are you running? If they are stock, it could cause a problem, I believe ur supposed to run 1 step cooler spark plugs when boosted. Also if you have a 255LPH fuel bump do you need the boostabump still? Have you checked compression on all the cylinders? Just throwing ideas out there, Ill talk to my mechanic friend later and see if he has any ideas.

It has a diablo revolution chip. I had tuned after the blower was rebuilt 7 mos (2000 mis ago)
Thay said that they advanced and retarded the timing trying to work it out.

THe car was running lean when I first purchased it. I took it to Mas and they told me I needed better injectors and larger fuel pump. THe car runs fine up till 4k rpm do you still think it could be a plug issue? another question How do you mess with the timing on a coil packed car? Am I correct in my assumption also that small timing and or plug issues would tend to even out comparably at a higher rpm not the other way around? I am more familiar with older motors? When I think of a motor having problems like this I think of vaccum advances. Is there a comparable system on a coil pack car?

I would recommend going onto the modular powerhouse forums and asking for help from Tim. He is like a genious at tuning mustangs.

It almost has to be fuel or timing, provided they built the motor correctly. I just can't say for sure. I'm not the best person to answer your questions, but you should contact code3gt, nanaki, or blueangelfightr. One of them may have some ideas.
