Question? I lowered my stang this weekend using ford racing springs, got an inch in the front and about 1/2 inch rear, i took the car to a tire place to check the alignment, I was told that it was off by a bit. So of course I thought about CC plates. The mechanic said no , don't spend your money on that. I can drill out the rivets that ford put in the original plates and then align the car. After drilling out the riviets he was able to align the car perfectly. I also took my wife's car to him and he was able to do the same for her.

Why is this proceedure never mentioned on the forums.

For the amount of lowering you did, CC plates aren't needed. They really arent needed unless you lower 2" or more.

Hey Code, I just never saw info on the site about drilling out the rivets to make the adjustments, my mechanic did tell me that another inch and the plates would have been required.
It's probably such a common thing that I did not realize that this is done normally to adjust the wheels, my wife had to have both sides drilled out to make the adjustments and this is on a stock car. I only had one side drilled out to make the adjustments.

Well the pictures in my gallery with the top down are all taken after I did the lowering. The pictures with the top up were taken before the lowering. But no matter the springs may settle a tiny bit more but hey it is a 2" drop for sure.
