good price or not?
my parents are looking at a 03 mustang gt auto, it only has 10k miles. the body and interior is mint. no scratches, dings, dents or rust. i think every thing is stock on it. there asking 16,900 down from 20k is this a good deal or do you think they can talk them lower for it

RE: good price or not?
that is VERY close to the car that was for sale up here last year
it was an 03 with 11K and it was about 17,500
but it depends if they really want to spend 16-17K for a car that can be found a year or two older, witg MAYBE twice the mileage, for almost 3/4 the price.

RE: good price or not?
Here's how I got mine from a dealer for 2k under blue book. Tell him you WILL NOT pay more than whatever you decide the most you will pay is and give him the number (be firm but not threatening). He will give you a counter and some bull**** excuse for not being able to meet your price. Tell him to save it and inform him again how much you are willing to pay. He will probably say that he cannot do that because they paid more than that for the car (car salesmen bullsh1t at its finest). Ask him if he will meet your price or not (threaten to leave and find another car), he will then give you his lowest offer yet and tell you that is absolutely as low as he can go. If that offer is to your liking, take it. If not get up and leave without saying anything acting annoyed. 4 out of 5 times he will encourage you to sit back down and talk some more numbers. Car salesmen are selfish, they work for commission so they would rather sell a car cheap than not sell it at all. Letting them know you aren't F%cking around is your best weapon.

I would rather spend less for a little older gt 99-01 with higher mileage 40-60k and mod it with the savings on such deal. it would be more enjoyable than just getting near brand new vehicle. also consider 5 speed and convertible top that`s what is really enjoyable about gt. good luck with your decision.

RE: good price or not?
u might be able to get em a little less, my car was like 16,500 5spd with 37k in amazing shape....BUT Instead of them knocking off more of their price i made em give me 2500 more for my car than anywhere else would. however u wanna look at it lol. but for that mileage it isnt bad, but autos arent near as fun and a little less desireable so u can work that against the dealer.
