Gear Questions
Hi there, I'm pretty new to this forum and this is actually my first post.

I am looking into getting 4.10 gears for my Mustang. It's a 2003 manual with an intake and exhaust pretty much. I am going with 4.10s because acceleration is more important than highway driving to me...

I have a couple of questions though?

First: Am I looking for an 8.8"

Second: What is a Bearing Set, do I need it, and if I do where can I find one?

Third: Anyone have any reviews about 4.10s? Will my speedometer appear faster or slower than original?

I appreciate your time and your help!

you will need a speed cal box from dallas mustang $100.00 1-800 mus tang..will set to any gears..i had 4.10s in my 99 cobra ,,took out ,hated them on highway ,,if you stay in town you will be okay..just dont go on a 1200 mile trip..you won;t like them
I was thinking of usinga superchip microtuner to correct for the speed. This runs around $300 and gives you a little more horsepower, changes to the top speed, temperature the cooling fan comes on, yadayaha...But I can't afford it just yet so I was thinking of living with the incorrect speedometer for a while as long as that's the only thing it will affect...I will probably put miles on faster than original won't I???

Anyway, did you get a bearing set with yours hotrodman? Or did you just simply buy the gears (ring and pinion) and take them into a shop and have them installed?

I need to ask...is there anything else I need to buy with these? Or can I just take the $124 gears from mustangtuning.com straight to someone and have it installed? I don't have a high mile or older car...
