Default CLUTCH PROBLEMS...PLEASE READ!!!

i just recently bought this car and it has been doing great, i havent driven it much cuz it is wintery still well the snow is gone so i drove it today to the movies, on my way there when it was in 1st gear, the rpms would be like way up there like it would over-rev the engine, and they would be up at like 4,500 until it finally grabbed decent, it would still go a lil bit but when it grabed that was how it was normally, then i tried pulling up the clutch with my foot off a take off, and that seemed to help, but it still did it, is it a bad clutch? or does the clutch need to be adjusted? i dont know much about mustangs or manuals yet, but if it needs adjusting please tell me how, or if it needs a new clutch, thanks

how many miles are on it? sounds like the clutch is slipping. probably needs to be replaced. the Ford King Cobra clutch kit is nice. i just installed it a few days ago and love it.

there is only 43,000 miles on it, and i got under it today in my pit and took the cover off by the link cable thing, and it wasnt all dusty in there like a clutch was smoked, but is there ANY way you can adjust the clutch cuz i have to let my clutch out about halfway for it to start grabbing, and that was b4 this problem, my dad said something like it should be let out like 2 inches b4 it starts grabbing, how hard is it to replace a clutch on these beats? gotta drop the whole tranny....thanks alot

oh replacing the clutch is a biotch. we had the car up on 4 ramps and used a jack to raise and lower it but you have to lift up the tranny a little bit of the floor by yourself so the jack will fit. a lift and a tranny jackstand would make it 80 times better. on some mustangs, not sure which years, if you pull the pedal up with your hand until it stops and then push it all the way down it will click and automatically adjust itself. other than that idk what to do.
