I can't decide between MGW or Steeda Tri-Ax. MGW maybe is better because of the adjustable handle, but the Tri-axe has spring loaded shifts, and is more durable right? Also I have heard of Steeda before, never heard of MGW other than this board for it's shifter.
From what I understand I think the MGW is also spring loaded. I haven't checked their site in a while, but when I went I thought I read that it is.

I guess I should just flip a coin then. Because I'm sure either choice is FAR better than the stock shifter. Some say the Tri-Ax is notchy but so is the stocker.

I remember my old Steeda Tri Ax. It's now in my friends 93 5.0 after I bought an MGW. I remember going to the track and banging that brickwall thing trying to go into third and over revving a couple of times. I love my MGW though, the whole reversible handle is awesome and makes the shift into 5th not make you have to move half way across the car to get it in there. The MGW is so smooth when you shift, also is spring loaded.

I just put my Tri-Ax in today... so far so good. Sounds like I need to slam on 3rd some more to see if I experience the same issue some of you have. Either way... just the feel alone is sooooooooooooo much better than stick though.-

So, what are all the aftermarket options for shifters? Somebody start a poll with stock plus each of the others listed and let's let those with experience vote!

Oh, and if you don't have experience with one, please don't vote.

Sad thing is, I run into a brick wall going into third with my stock shifter. MGW is deffy on the top of my list of things to do.

im sure the tri-ax is fine, but if anybody's looking to buy one just look at the user feedback; I have yet to see 1 comment even remotely negative about the mgw, just installed mine today and wow this thing is nice.

I've actually owned a MGW (put onto my GT), a tri-ax (came on the cobra), and the 5.0 that is now on the cobra. The pro 5.0 offers the shortest, stiffest shifts hands down. Only problem is that it is definately not as comfortable as the MGW. The tri-ax is nice, but to be honest the reason I bought the pro 5.0 was because I didn't even realize there was an after market shifter on the cobra. As far as quality, I would say MGW wins for driver comfort, pro 5.0 is definately the thickest metal and my guess the strongest, not to mention the shortest. And then the tri-ax, well to be honest it feels pretty close to stock minus the slop. I think for a daily driver any of the three would be a good improvement over stock.
