Default Learned a lesson today

Well I have had problem after problem on my car as of the last 5 months. I was considering trading it in for a Mach 1 or a TA. I went and test drove a trans am today. It was a 2001 WS6. Car looked good from the outside but the interior is poop. It had scratches all over the plastic and the buttons where falling off. The traction control button was barrely in place. Also the window wouldn't go up and theengine sounded like crap. They wanted 17k for the car with 68k miles. I told them they were crazy. I'm guess the TA was stock so it had 325 horse but it didn't feel faster then my car at all. As a matter of fact I think my car pulled harder in first and second gear. The other TA I looked at was also a 2001 WS6 and looked nice from the outside but the inside was poop on that too. The door felt like it was bout to fall off and the motor sounded like garbage on that one too. I guess I am not trading my car in after all. The 2003 Mach 1 I wanted was 17k and was sold , I guess I'll keep my nickel and dimer.

The exhaust on LS1 cars is critical, very few sound right. A car with 68k on it and not taken care of will have troubles like that no matter what the brand. But FYI it might not have "felt" faster, but promise it was. The butt dyno is not accurite at all. Good luck with findingthe Mach1

I wouldn't doubt that a bit. I leave my best friends '02 modded SS at the line every time we race due to my superior trans. gearing and his massive wheel spin from so much power. Its only when I'm poping it into third gear that the SS blows by me like I'm standing still.

Just be patient and wait for a good deal on the car that you actually want. I like the sound of a Mach. I love those cars!

Assuming he's a 6 speed, T-56(his tranny) POWNS the 3650(yours) in every possible catagory.

Until 5th gear the 56 and 3650 are virtually identical in gearing. The only real difference would be the rear end, if you run a 3.73 or 4.10 or if he somehow has a 2.7x rear gear in a 6 speed.

Unless it was a 6 speed with the 3.45 gear i can definatly see him hanging/beating one from a dig. before the cams (3.73s, full boltons w/ LTs, no tune) I waxed sevearal WS6 6 speed/3.45 geared cars from astop. I always got beat from a roll butfrom a stop I was able to put 2-3 cars on em off the launch andkeep them back there till we stopped mid 4th gear.

I beg to differ, the 2.66 first gear in the Camaro T-56 is a good deal taller then the 3.38 first in the 3650. Example:

'02 SS Camaro T-56 (not Cobra or Viper T-56, CAMARO) vs TR-3650:

First: 2.66 vs 3.38
Second: 1.78 vs. 2.00

Thats a total of 0.94 in gearing between the two, if you think that doesnt make a difference come race day, then I must be missing a huge point somewhere here......

The interiors on Pontiacs seem to self-destruct in4-5 years, I've seen a bunch of them with the silly membrane switches all cracked and falling apart...[/align]

Haha +1... I was like wow this interior sucks. It was very comfortable to drive though.
