Bad 02 sensor.... how does it effect engine?

Default Bad 02 sensor.... how does it effect engine?

[align=left]My check engine light is on and it is saying one of my O2 sensors is bad .....i have had the car for about a year and a half and the check engine light has been on the whole time but only up until just recently when i accelerate hard the motor will start running bad and it wont do it every time . and then when it does run bad a few hours later the car will run perfect like nothing every happend ....i can not figure out what would be causeing this......do you think it could be the bad O2 sensor?

It is def. possible. It may be trying to compensate the mixture for faulty readings. I would replace it IMHO.
