gears?
right now i have 3:73's i have been told by other forums go 4:30 or 4:56's beacuse the cobras liek the higher rpms. my ? is what speed would 4:10's top at at and the same go's for the 4:56's?
also how much of a diffrence speed wise would the 4:30's be from the 3:73's? i plan in the future to do a s/c hopefully a kb.

I have stock gears but i know that for a fact 4.56 are kinda high for a cobra and will really affect ur top end...of wat i heard 4.10 will top out around 130 or so not sure though...now if ur planning on gettina blower anytime soon u should get some 3.55 or something around there anything in the 4's i think might be to high for a blower....
Theoretical top speed with 4.10s would be 175 mph (@6k rpm, assuming the engine had the grunt), with 4.56's you might have enough power to hit the calculated max of 157 mph.Top speed with our cars is much more impacted by horsepower than gears, if you had the power the stock 3.27 gears would hit 220 mph @ 6k rpm--it's not 'til you get to 4.10 or higher (ratio), and a lot more power than stock, that top speed becomes a gearing issue...I've had my '03 GT (3.73s) up to 143.6 mph per my GPS (it got up to there pretty quick, the "butt-radar" said it had another 5-7 mph in it if I had kept it floored for another 1/2 mile or so) and am pretty sure I wouldn't want to go a whole lot faster inone of thesecars...
Here's a better gear calculator. I've been trying to get this one stickied....

4.56 in a mustang? haha i couldnt get my 4.10's to stick when i was somewhat stock, couldnt imagine the 4.56 why not go 5.13 then haha. 4.10's for autos and 3.73 for 5 speeds is basically the unwritten rule in here.
I have 4.30's in my GT, and since I'm staying N/A, they are great for me. Since you have a Cobra and are going to be doing F/I in the near future, I would definitely stay away from 4.56's, and probably the 4.30's as well. You may be better of doing the S/C and all that stuff first, then deciding what gears would compliment the setup the best. For all you know, the 3.73's could end up being perfect.
ok if i got 4:10's how is it going to be a big noticable difference or shoudl i just stick with my gears.
this is my street car i have yet to be to the track but i do plan on doing so in the future.
thats why i thought if i go 4:30's with s/c my car may top out at 120ish mph but i guess i was wring.
lol faster it tops out less trouble i get in for speeding.
