Default Driveshaft?

Anyone out there have the aluminum driveshaft? How do you like it? Did you notice any difference? I have an out of balance u-joint I believe, so I'm hoping to take care of the vibration and take a little rotational weight off of it. Anyone know the weight difference b/t the stock and aluminum driveshafts? Thanks everyone!

I run one on the Bucket. I don't know the exact weight difference, but the aluminum one is MUCH lighter.

Yea, I was wondering about getting one my self, I heard that it helps reduce alot of the road noise associated with the axle and tranny.

I have one! I think it's a mod that a lot of people overlook. Well worth it.

Iread a postthat the FRPP was just over 7 pounds lighter than the stocker.

Aluminum Driveshaft Install

Well as mentioned I was able to throw on the FRPP aluminum driveshaft today. The fit, finish and quality of this piece is very nice, and it is definetly lighter than the stocker. As a matter of fact I weighed the two (multiple times) and the average difference is about 7.25lbs lighter than stock...When talking about rotating mass...thats quite a bit. The stocker weighed in at about 20-21lbs, while the aluminum weighed in at 12.5-13 lbs. The install is very easy- just remove the 4 12mm bolts holding on the rear joint of the stocker, pull out the output shaft, and replace with the new driveshaft and bolts. takes all of 45 minutes. HOWEVER...I do rec. heating up the 4 bolts before trying to remove them because they are loc-tighted on from the factory- i just torched them for about 30 seconds and was able to budge them loose
