I have a 96gt and i have the same problem but i have the full factory exhaust with six cats. I took it to my macanic and he found out what it was and took it off with some kind of diagnostics tuner, and he said it was nuthin to worry about. He said that those things just come on so u have to take it to the dealer and pay a lot of money to fix it. But now it's back on again and it's makin me mad! N e ways good luck hope u get it fixed. I need to get one of them tuners so i can turn that light off myself. lol

go down to your local parts store, they should have a code reader. read and erase the code which should get rid of the cel, if it comes back on againn your mils are defective.

From what I've heard on here, MIL eliminators only work about half the time, and many times they work for a while then stop.

I have mils on my car and they do not work when it is cold out, under 50 degrees.

Ok well i talked the guy who had it before me and it did it to him so he replaced them once before too. The autoparts store told me they arent allowed to erase emissions codes. Could i erase it by pulling the battery cables to see if maybe something just movedout of place fora secand threw the code? I unpluuged everything and plugged it back in yesterday.

The new thing now is when i got in the car after my last post, the CEL was off. Then i left my buddies house and its back on again. So im just going to assume the eliminators are defective now. I have steeda's on there should i try the BBK's or are they both known to fail in time? I dont care if it comes on in 3 months, i only need them for e check and thats in 29 days..
