Default straight pipes

i cut my stock mufflers off and welded in some straight pipes loud as hell my question is will this hurt the engine at all

i dont see a problem with it.. just like having turndowns.(right?) if i where u though everytime u pass a cop, push the clutch in lol

no do you still have yur cats on the car? if you do it should be fine i would assume.

yeah all the cats are still on the car ---that should be enough back pressure so i dont suck a valve in the upper rpms or is that even a problem with the 4.6 mod

It's not a problem with any engine, it's just a myth. The valve springs, locks and retainers are what keep you from "sucking" a valve.

i did that to my 69 mustang, when you have straight pipes you don't have and back pressure, so you could loose 1-3h.p(thats what the muffler shop told me). nothing big. if you have mufflers then you will have back pressure. but since you have the cats on there you should have enought back pressure. so your fine running straight pipes. how do they sound? prob pretty good. i was think of doing that to my 98 GT. let me know if i should?

for sure lol I even do that in my car and I just have a cat-back.

i dont have any way of posting a sound clip but i personally think it sounds good still quiet at idle but 1800 rpms and up its awesome i caught my wife reving it down the street i can hear her all the way down the block
