Default Bore it

So, which bore and stroke combo would you like best for our 280-290cid V8's?

Code, thanks for the poll option...I get the first poll, where's my cookie?

I was under the impression our cylinder walls were too thin to get a useful bigger bore, no?

Make your own block. No small block, and I doubt any big blocks, can accomodate a 4.5" bore. But, that's not the question. The question is which would YOU design.

I'd say none of the above. You will have torque like a 4 cyl with all of those except the 3.55x3.55 which is only .01 bigger in the stroke then stock.

A 4.0 bore would be great on a modular!
A Big Bore from VT or Modular Performance is only 3.7 and thats about the max our blocks can go so i'd like to see the next generation have atleast a 4.0 bore.

Depends on the stroke. Each of those combos are similar in final cubes, even though each will act differently. The top two combos are real engines (289, slightly destroked and 4.6L), the other two aren't.

Larger bores = larger valve area = more air flow = more power

Short strokes = less low rpm torque = more high rpm power
