HELP
I am looking at buying a 2002 Ford Mustang GT from this used dealership i am not to good with cars so i had a few questions the dealer wants $9500 for it it has 98K miles it has a beautiful paint job yellow with black racing stripes on the hood with GT in them in yellow it is an automatic he says it has a shift kit andflowmasters how do i know he is telling the truth and is there any way to verify that it is a GT and an actual V8 besides the vin when i test drove it it was real nice but it when it shiftedgears it felt like a manuel but it was real smooth and ran great from what i could tell any advice would be great thanks
well was it fairly quick and did the exhaust have a deep tone if so then its probably a gt 9500 its kinda cheap from a dealer id try and find a 5spd if i were you but i just like 5spds better. My second car was my mustang as well id give you some advice dont just hop on the first one you see look at a few i almost bought one for 3grand more than mine that looked great hen i checked the carfax it had had 5 owners in two years and wrecked twice so take your time lookign for one. I ended up buying mine from a woman who was about to have a kid and needed a sedan when i bought it it was 2 years old with 30k never wrecked one owner and i got it for $13700
pop the hood and if its a V8 then it should look close to this.....

and if its a v6 then it should look like this....

and now that i really think about it...the easiest way to tell between a GT and a regulare V6 (cant believe i didnt think of this earlier) the V8 mustangs have dual exhaust. the V6 has only one tail pipe. so 1 tailpipe = v6 and dual tail pipes = v8.
