the test you refered to was made and the rumor is the engine went beyond the 1000 hp range...without exploding. There are plenty of Cobras running 700, 800, 900 and even 1000 hp on the stock engine. True, the engine wont last years on this kind of power level but they do hold up fine.

 

Perhaps White02 should word his question much better......

I have a buddy thats right at 788rwhp on an everyday street tune.....

When you get up that high its not really the engine that is going to go... Its everything else like the rear and such.
