Changing the rev limiter? UPDATED
I was playing around with my SCT tuner today and was curious to change my rev limiter...I have a stock S197 bottom end...anyone have any input as to what RPM is safe? 6300-6500? Any input is appreciated...
im not too sure about the 3v but why would you want to do this? for example our 2v fall out of their power band at around 5200 rpm. the rev limiter is i believe 6200 which gives 1000 unnecassary rpms. plus the whole rod through wall thing if you rev out of the stock shortblocks limits. just my opinion.

I am making max power at 6K...i was thinking of raising the limiter to 6200 so the following gear is closer to max power...just curious is all...

It should be fine at 6500rpms and thats what mine is set at. My peak power is at 6100rpms and i proberly take it to 6500every day and on the weekends i couldnt even count how many times i have hit 6500rpms

I think ours is set to either 6000 or 6100 but I could be wrong...Ill set it to 6400 so I have a safety zone...Im not gonna take it that high but its there incase I do...
