my car wont start
i have a 92 mustang gt that does not want to start the only way that it will start is if i give him charge on the battery, i already replace the battery but still the same. I pass charge to the battery and works but only for 20 min and then dies and i have to give charge again any ideas what could be wrong do i have same kind of electrical problem ????
I have the SAME problem right now!
I would check your alternator, and all the connections to and from the battery.
Heres my post on the problem...ALL 3 PAGES...

if ur car starts for 20 min after a charge and then dies its ur alternator. whats most likely happening is the battery gets charged enough to hold the car going for about 20 min and then it runs out again. basically it sounds like ur alternator took a poop.
Exactly...but don't be too sure of the whole thing being blown.
I just fixed my problem with a new battery and a new Voltage Regulator put into the same alternator. Thats all it needed. Don't go buy a new \alt., take it to an alternator or electrical shop and have them open it up (you need a special tool), and have them inspect your Voltage regulator. Mine was completely burned out, and they replaced it for $100. Most people just go buy a new one for $250, without knowing it could only just be a small thing such as that.
Take it to the shop, they will tell you whats wrong with it. And if it's more than the VR, then they can rebuild it for about $120 usually. MUCH cheaper than a new one.
