inspection!
For you guys with O/R midpipes, what do you do for inspection? My pipe is in the mail, and I dont need to get an inspection for a good while. I'm pretty sure my county doesn't do emissions testing yet (or so the guy said at the place when I went to get my mom's car inspected), not until later. But if they do start, or if its started already, do you guys "tip" the man on the side or what. Any ideas? Besides doing a whole midpipe swap twice. Thanks all.

I work for a place that is starting to do inspections, so I'm in luck. As far as emissions testing, even if your county does not test it, they could still fail it if they wanted to. A lot of inspectors do who are on a power trip.
Before my place did inspections I knew someone, its not what ya know, its who ya know...

Dude I just don't believe that San Antonio is that hard on inspections. There are TOO MANY shops that do inspections around that area. Hell, when i lived in Waco, there at least 6 places i knew that would inspect cars and not hassle them about the exhaust set up. My typical inspection involves pulling the car in, left blinker check, right blinker check (front & rear), horn check, drive up the road to check brakes (or whatever the hell he does) and back. Never do they ask me about my exhaust and my sig tells everything that I have. I say don't worry about that unless they say something first.
Maryland does emmission's testing but doesn't make you get your car inspected. Once I get my setup on I'm just going to take a gamble and hope they don't get the mirrors out and check under the car. I usally just pull in, pay the 15 bucks or so and they drive it through the bay and give me the paper and say I pass
there are always ways around everything, just dont get caught! stiff fines if you do. best bet for visual inspection, is take the cat covers off and when you do your exhaust setup.. have them welded where they would normally be found (obviously not welded onto exhaust, but most people see that and just move on without thinking twice). the sniff test will be the one that you cannotpass without cats. (damn Nevada)
