Default Quick Education question....

So a 2v Stang has 2 cams........ You can upgrade Heads and Cams and see slight gains.....

a 4vCobra/Mach1 has 4 cams....... You can upgrade the heads and Cams and see good gains.....

But.... an LS Camaro, WS6, or Vettehas only 1 cam...... so why does a Cammed LS motor get soo much power from those bolt ons compared to ours? What is it about the Chevy Motors that do that?

Displacement and the inherent torque of a pushrod engine.

Can you briefly discribe a pushrod engine for me please? I kinda know what it is..... but a little more info would be good to to feed my brain.

with a sohc and a dohc the camshafts directlly move the valves because the cams are acutally seated ontop of the valves, ohv or pushrod motors move the valves through roller rockers, which are just hinges which have little poles attached to them, ls1 camaros get so much power from a cam because the factory cam is very mild . it has nothing to do with the type of motor, it is all the displacement.

They work the same and the LS1 is an evolution of the LT1. Think of it as the difference between a non PI and a PI motor....

This is absolutely WRONG on every level that I can think off. What in the world are you talking about? Why are you giving advise on subjects that you obviously have no experience in?
