Default How much will it cost to install a new Fuel Pump?

Can I get an estimate on how much I should expect to pay?
I figure a new SVT Focus pump ($135 w/ warranty) plus how many hours of work it takes to install.
Shop I'm using charges about $65 an hour of labor.

Do it yourself. It can be done in about an hour with simple hand tools.

Agreed. Do it yourself, it's quite easy. One tip I can suggest is when you jack up the rear...make sure you jack it up high enough so you can drop the tank and have enough room to look into it. I didn't jack my car up high enough and then had to squeeze my head between the tank and the car....smells bad.

Took me more than an hour though.

Just ask your local guy. What it should cost and what it will cost might be two different matters. If you respect him,you can't tell him upfront that some guys on a forum told you not to pay more than 50 bucks.A guy charging 120 an hour might factor time in a way different from a guy charging 65.
