Clay bars remove oxidation and pollutants from your paint. I used one on my car and it made a big difference. You can get them at walmart, autozone etc. I got a mothers brand kit and it worked well. I used one because my paint had some overspray/rough areas on it and it smoothed it right up.

a clay bar is exactly that, it's a bar made out of clay, same thing u used to play with as kid, but it actually works on cars when used correctly. the purpose of the clay bar is to remove particles and other stuff that is harmful to ur cars paint and clearcoat that a car wash cannot remove. i've used it plenty of times and i love it. IMO the best one out there and the one i used is the Mothers clay bar. u can even purchase the mothers clay bar kit which comes with the clay bar, detailer spray and carnauba wax cleaner at any pepboys, autozone, or straus. it's one of the best detailing kits on the market.
