It would be a regular 6speedc5.

'03 Cobra, hands down! It's not real expensive to get the Cobra to 500rwhp, but trying that with the 'Vette may break your bank!

03 cobra hands down. If it was a Z06 that would be one thing but if your taking base C5 vette there isn't even a question here. That is like asking should I buy a ferrari or an escort.

Idk man the escort does get killer gas mileage Yeah the C5 corvette is a real disapointment. I was the first time i ever drove one becuase i expected so much more. It was an open top with corsa exhaust, CAI, and tune and it still felt like it couldnt even keep up in the cobra's smoke. It was like an 02 or 03 i think. I drove a cobra the next day that was stock and i was like man now this is a car. (I worked at a dealership) Haha cool story is we had an F-250 6.0 powerstroke with a full banks performance package (Six gun tuner, 4" exhaust, New turbo housing, new intercooler, snow injection, intake, etc. Made like 900 rw-trq and 450 rw hp on the dyno) and we used it to go pick up the vette from the other dealer and we both got on the freeway to go back to the shop, i was in the vette and he was in the truck and we lind em up on the freeway going 60 and tried to race em but when he floored it the back end of the truck ripped loose[] so we tried it from 40 and he put it in 4wd[sm=devilgrin.gif] and he rapped me.[][][] It was pretty awesome. He has it on tape on his video phone somewhere. Ok sorry i know this has nothing to do with the thread but its funny that a mild bolt on C5 got schooled by a Ford. . . . truck that is. . . and it was a diesel for that matter

Well if you are in your 60s, if youplan on never driving faster than the posted speed limit, or are having a mid-life crisis then the Vette is for you. If you do not fit into those categories the Cobra is the right choice.
