Default Soldier on a budget!

Just bought a 03 GT (5 speed)and I love it. I am going to make this cara project. I am about to start modding the car out next week. Before I spend my money foolishly, I want to ask you guys advice. As you can see by my subject, my better half has put me on a budget. The stock exhuast sounds to quiet. I was told to go with 40 series flowmaster mufflers (catback hopefully next summer), is that a good fit? Also I have been a advid K&N buyer but I see that alot of GT owners on this siteare praising JLT CAI. Which is better? I have also just purchased BBK underdrive pulleys, are those preety good?IWith the JLTCAI,BBK underdrive pulleys and the 40 series mufflers what kind of HP gain am I looking at.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

if hes lucky.. i say stop modding now.. and save up for F/I its the only way youll make these cars go fast. step 1) get forced induction step 2) get the power to the ground with tires and suspension. since i know youre on a budget, you should search for used kits such as a vortech.. even with a modest 8psi alone on F.I youll be around 350hp. dont make the mistake alot of us did by doing the little 1hp bolt-ons first then F/I go straight to F/I

I think a catback is a great first mod. It will bring a smile to your face everytime you start your car. Flows aren't stainless, so if you live in the salt-belt, they'll last about 5 yrs. A catback doesn't corner you too much and allows flexibility for different routes. If you go with a blower your cai will be wasted. If you get a regular mid pipe, and decide you want longtubes you'll need a shortie mid pipe.

It's good to have your end plan in mind when starting.

then that was a complete waste of my brain cells reading that. only RWHP numbers matter.. i thought you would have learned that in your 100+ posts... fact is.. no matter what route you go, most people start out with exhaust. if youre on a budget your best bet would probably be weld-in flows (which i believe they do offer in stainless now, but they are a little bit more) i still feel F/I is the best first mod, behind the standard weak points in the mustang (intake manifold, exhaust)
