Convertible Top
I have a 1996 4.6l automaticmustang Gt convertible. I just moved up to new york, fromTexas, for college without my car because people have told me that I cant have my car up here because if it snows the top will collapse. I just wanted to know if that is true or not and to what extent. If it will collapse with 1inch of snow or a 1 foot of snow. If i do have to sell it would it just be easier to find someone that will trade for another mustang down in Texas and drive it up or sell it down there and buy i differant car up here. Thanks for the help.
I MISS TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I MISS TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Canada and drive my car through the winter. I'm a truck driver so my car sits for 2 weeks at a time, snow building up and have had NO problems yet!! Just someone who doesn't know what they are talking about telling you not to drive your car in the snow.
Hmm. Has any had any bad snow/convertible top experiences, because this will be the first winter I have my car up in Boston. I didn't realized I would have to worry about that.

people get stupid ****in myths in their head, think because it might make sense in a different reality and could possibly be .001 percent possible.. and seems so IMPROBABLY its PROBABLY true they deem it fact.. so they tell everyone and explain it in a way that someone could actually believe it. Just because a roof collapses over time with snow/rain weight doesnt mean your top will.
FTR, 12 inches of snow = 1 inch of water.. your top will be fine.. if your top is covered in snow, id worry about it leaking or getting dirty, not collapsing.
