That things makin 215 220 at the crank? You'll win, those newer imports are getting fat, they need to go on a diet.

how much would a manual really matter anyways?

Unless we get up past 100 mph, arnt autos "quicker" (considering the avg driver cant short shift like a machine)

or would I need the extra acceleration from the 5 speed?

i used to have an integra and i was really into imports (yeah i'll admit it) he's running a K-series motor, unless hes willing to push the engine to 6K+ rpm hes not makin any real power and because the K-series motor was ment to handle higher rpms he has very little tourque (on top that it's only a 2.0L) plus his gears are maid to handle low torque, AKA hes gonna have to shift alot (ALOT) quickly and by 5th he running out of gear+torque.

it won't even be a race.... let us know. To answer your questions his headers probably add 15 RWHP or less.

and hes FWD unless hes using DR's or knows excatly what hes doing, hes gonna spin at the line. weight transfer a bi*ch on FWD cars. in my 120HP integra i'd spin on 100+ degree days after driving to car like 10 miles, and i was using Z-rated Toyo Proxies 4

99 mustang with an H and a catback, vs, a civic si with headers-(lol)and a fart can.Yes he has headersbut it's a 2.0 engine. There's no way the car is going to respond well enough to his slight mods to beat you.To be honest.. this shouldn't even be a doubt in your mind. Unless he hadnitrous or turbo, it's not going to happen. You have to do a whole lot to a civic to make it beat a mustang. ALOT. granted it's your 99Auto vs his 06 si Manual, it still boils down toyour 8 cylinders vs his 4 with no torque, while both of you have light mods.EASY, EASY KILL. Have confidence. Murder him, then talk **** about it till he gets nitrous or turbo. He has 200 hp to the crank stock, at 7800 rpms...lol you have 260 at around 4700? something like that. No contest. And he has no torque.

And a good manual driver is going to get your car well b4 100mph. 4spd vs 5spd, much better gearing to get into your powerband. Now if you had a 5spd auto you'd be much better off. But if the manual can launch.. your at a huge disadvantage.
