how fast are the GTO's? a kid in my town has a 2006 GTO i was wondering exactly how fast it was because he kind of swears by it, also i was wondering what i would need to be able to take him, my friend has the same car i have (02' GT 5speed) with a catback, o/r mid, short shifter, CAI, tuner, throttle body + plenum would that be enough to do the job? any info would help

 

You would need a lot to take him they are fast. My buddy has an 05 and he beat me by a second at the 1/8th tonight. They have 400hp at the crank compared to your 260 you are going to need a little more then your friend has.

 

+10 on that. Even though they look like arental car they're fast as hell!

 

I dont know about the 05-06's, but my cousin has a 04 and it runs 9.20's in the 1/8, and I would not call that fast as hell....

 

so like what more would he need i thought they only ran like mid 13's

 

04 has 350 HP and the 05-06 have 400. But he should run better than a 9.20

 

I'm not sure what year the GTO that I've seen around my neighborhood isbut it is one quick little puppy.

I ran a GTOjust last saturdayand his bumper was at my passenger doortill about100mph then he finally pulled the **** out of me. But it was a really sweet race and i even suprised my self staying in front of him that long. He even said it him self that my car was strong at the bottom end.
