Default Supercharging options

Ok guys, I am supercharging my stang. The problem is, I don't know which charger I'm going for, or where to get it from. I've got a few possibilities narrowed down.

Option # 1. Mongoose kit #1from MPH. http://modularpowerhouse.com/product...1dbe1f3d3e9092

I'd have to install it myself, which I've heard can be a pain with centris. Also, it's only 1100 bucks less than getting a KB 2.1 directly from Kenne Bell. I'd love to get the TS over a centri.

On the plus side, it comes with MPH'stune and from what I've heard, their amazing customer support.

Option # 2. Mongoose kit #2 from MPH. http://modularpowerhouse.com/product...1dbe1f3d3e9092

Everything I want. Installed by MPH, dyno tune included, I do nothing. Downside, it's going to be around 8 grand after everything, and it involves shipping the car to MPH. I'm leaning away from this one.

Option # 3. Kenne Bell 2.1 directly from KB. This is the one I'm leaning towards, it would be $4999 plus tax. I am pretty confident in my ability to install myself, the only thing that I'm worried about is the tune that comes from KB that I'll have to use until I can get the car to a dyno. The positives I see- It's within my price range, it's got the low end torque that I want, and I can do it myself, which I'd love to do.

I'm just asking for your opinions, what would you do? Let's not make this into a centri vs twin screw thread, there are plenty of those. I'm just looking for some opinions from some of the more experienced guys, especially those who have already supercharged their mustangs. (2000GT4.6, I'm looking at you)

Edit: Got it narrowed down tooption #1. Centrifugal Mongoose kit FTW!!!

its comes down to money and what you want... if you want the KB and have the money get the KB that way you wont have regrets. I'll tell you from personal experience when you have your mind set on something and you have to down grade because you cant afford it you will always look back and curse yourself for not getting what you wanted.

^ What he said get what you WANT...you'll regret it if you don't. The KB self install is EASY, don't pay for install. I'm running the KB tune just fine right now. I'm running rich which is expected, but have gobs of power to play with and I'm not worried about blowing my motor. Acustom tune will come when I finish my motor build/goodies. Just something to think about.

Lol. What I WANT is an '04 cobra... but that's going to have to wait for a bit. Victor, how much did your charger setup cost you? Not including the built everything, of course, just the super charger and it's supporting stuff.

Mitch aka Code3GT has the latest price..... But when I bought it a year ago, it was right under $5,000 for everything

3 core intercooler, 42lb Injectors, Upgraded Fuel Pump, P-1, Pulley Options etc etc.

Do you think you could post up a dyno sheet for me? And does Code own a shop or somthing?

And while I have your attention, what does the KB boost a pump do? Does it just enhance the voltage going to the stock pump? If so, won't that burn the pump motor out eventually?

code works for texas hot rods, and my vote is for the vortech mongoose kit, its your cheapest bet, comes with everything u need, one of the best tunes u can get, and if its not enough power u can always swap pullies, or add an aftercooler or intercooler, or maybe even some meth injection

Keep in mind that the 2.1 kit from KB is going to need a retune to run anywhere near the best it can, and in that case you have to buy the dyno time + tune + tuner of some sort, which can add up.

I love my mongoose kit. Not only was it a great kit at a great price with a great MPH tune, but you can also do a DIY FMIC kit later on and get quite a bit for around 700 bucks (FMIC, powerpipe, bypass, etc).

If I was to do it over again, the only thing I would change is I would have spent another few hundred bucks and gotten a T trim with the MPH kit.

BTW, you are NOT going to be disapointed with a centri when you get it. It is simply nothing like what people that have not been in one think it is. Even with little boost down low the car still made more at 2800 RPM on a MUSTANG dyno (reads lower) than it did at any point before on a dynojet dyno.

Mongoose + centri FTW.
