why does everybody wanna race?
Ok,I just got my first mustang and now it seems like everyone wants to race.Picking up my daughter the other night at the mall.A ford lightning pulls up next to me while parked at the curb.Then this guy purges his nitrous then pulls away a lil and takes off .Then last night,again going to get my daughter,a nice gt pulls beside me on a two lane road and tries to race.I look at it this way,Fast cars are awesome but racing like that could get you killed ,Im just happy cruising in my car,i want to keep it looking and running nice and plan on keeping it for a long time.I have had a few ta's but it seems like the mustang is like a big race me sign.Anybody have any similar experiences?[&:]

Some people just can't help it. I'm that way. If another sports car, mustang and ls cars especially, I have to try them for a first and second gear run. My second gear only runs 45 mph pegged out and I can get a pretty good idea what the outcome would be by then so I let off. Some people just love to play a little. I don't recommend racing up to 100 mph on the street though. Heck, just yesterday I borrowed my brother in laws S10 to haul something back to a friends house and tried to race a fox body gt at a red light.lol

Yeah, I get the same thing. The other day, I`m out for a ride with the top down in my `00 GT, just enjoying the night air. I stopped for a red light & I hear this loud whine & a `04/`04 Cobra pulls next to me. The driver looks over at my car, dosen`t smile wave or anything, & proceeds to rev the **** out of his car. I rev my car a little, & when the light changes, the Cobra driver floors it & is off like a mad man. It was a one sided race because as soon as the light changed----I made a right turn. I laughed all the way home.

Yes, I been getting this also. I have not had a sports/muscle carin awhile but it makes me lol. The thingI do not get is the ones that act mad if you do not race.I like to play but not on the street.

It's part of the fun when owning a car everyone is shooting to beat. Just wait until Olds Silhouttes & Geo Metro's start trying to race you. That **** starts to get ridiculous!
