Alright i have this friend that does nothing but talk about how his camaro is fast and i dont mind sometimes, but it can get hella annoying. Well we raced a couple days after i got used to manual and haha it didnt go to good since i was new to manual. so now alls he does is talk crap about how chevy cars are better and how his winter truck has more ***** then my mustang and that got me angry. He has a 95 LT1 camaro with Intake, Full exhaust, brakes, suspension stuff, heads, cam, ingition and slicks, turns out he only ran a mid 13 haha and he said he had no traction with slicks..psh his e/t was 13.4 at i think 110-115. just made me laugh when i heard the times and he still uses the excuse 'no traction' like always. thanks for listening! anyone else have friends like this?

 

yea i have a couple like that. One guy i work with is aDIE HARD chevy fan!!!!! he swears that Ford is crap and that hell never drive one. he has a 64 1500 LB thats lowered with a built (carbed) lt1. i have asked him to race many times. he just says that he doesnt wanna hurt my cars feelings. when i say i dont care i wanna race anyway, he just says you have a weight advantage on me. its justa constant battle w/ only one side puttin out and the other compalining.

Some chevy guys are really really cool!!!! I have a few vette buddies as well as some camaro buddies. its all in the driver i guess. it just seems like chevy owners are sooo much cockier than mustang owners because of the 50-60hp difference! personally i like being the underdog!!!! its unexepected when i spank most of em. as a matter of fact, i myself and then my g/f both beat the same cammed SS 02 camaro, you shoulda seen the look on his face

 

Actually with that time and trap it does look like he has some traction issues. But i can relate, most of my friends are LS1 guys so i have to put up with it. I just simply remind them of the 03 cobra and they usually shut up.

 

Well i put it this way, a gear in a mustang would make it run 14 roughly right, his car with slicks cam/head ran 13's, thats 1 sec away from being his e/t.. somethings wrong haha

 

Yeah your def right something is wrong. His car should be a 12sec car easily I would assume if he has done a H/C/I setup on slicks. Spray your car and show him how its done modular style! Nitrous FTW!

 

isnt 1 sec like 4-6 car lengths? with his mods, he probably lacks the driver mod the most, he has slicks,lt1 is not ls1 tho so i dont no why he's so cocky, not they cant be fast but jeez i hate when people talk down to people when their car or seat time is nothin to brag about, ego issue

 

Yep I have 2 friends that are diehard GM fans, one drives a fult bolt-on/cam 98 WS6 and the other drives a fiero that is getting a supercharged 3800 swapped in. So I really need a blower or some laughing gas soon to keep up with those guys. The WS6 only ran a 13.0 at the track but he trapped at like 115, he was having traction problems as well on his street tires. So the WS6 is good for mid12 second passes all day long with some stickier rubber out back.

They're just happy I don't drive a turbo import anymore.

 

yeah i had to shut my buddy up cause he was bragging about his full bolt-on LT1 and how it would smoke the hell out of my car. i finally got him to race and took him every time. if it were an LS1 it would be a different story but that just showed him to stop bragging about it.

i have a couple camaro friends. theyre really cool. one of them was hit by a drunk driver. his camaro was totaled. he got a nice settlement and i tried to convince him in getting a z28 or the ss, but he said v6 all the way w/ insurance prices. but he see's an ls1 in his future. my other two buddys have an older style camaro. they dropped a borg warner 5 speed in it and now theyre dropping a lt1 in it with p+p heads. well they're pretty cool also but they said there is a npi mustang driving around like he's the king of the street. i told him as soon as he gets his engine in it to race him and take his crown back. they also have an impala ss with an lt1 in it also. but its stock. not sure what that'll do to the npi gt. those two are gear heads and have respect for me too, even when i only had my 97gt.
