Default Header Upgrade

Hey fellas,

The next step i am going to take with my car is putting on some Long Tube Headers. Right now my set up is stock headers, o/r Xpipe and Magnaflow exhaust. Can anyone recommend the type of headers i should get? Also, this means i am going to need a new Xpipe correct?

Now for installation. How much (ballpark) am I going to look at to put the headers on along with my exhaust system? Any help is greatly apprecated.

I live in Chicago so if you could reccomend anyone that would be great.

Thanks

headers depends on how much you want to spend. I was in the 500 range, so I went with BBK ceramics. Good fit, good qaulity, I have no complaints. I spent 350 getting the headers installed, installed BBk shorty o/r x, and welding cutouts onto the x.

Thanks Ghostrider. I was looking at the BBK's also. Should i call around to places and see how much they would charge to do that install?

How do the cutouts sound?

your welcome, the cutouts at idle sound like a huge exhaust leak. When on WOT it sounds friggin amazing. I am getting cams this winter so idle with cut outs will sound sweeeeet. Just call your local shops and see how much they charge, I got a sweet deal because I knew somebody that used to work there. So you may pay up to 500 on average. Some shops around here wanted 800, so just do some research and price shopping on install.

unless you can install the yourself, i wouldn't bother with LTs. the price vs performance, especially if you pay to have them installed, isn't worth it.
