What size are the stock speakers in our stangs? i have the Mach 460 but I want to go to alpine speakers and want to know what sizes I need to buy. Thanks,

Oh and if you think there is a better brand than the alpines let me know, Im looking for sound quality over anything.

 

I believe it's 5 x 7 all the way around. Polk Audio, Eclipse, Kenwood & Alpine all make a better speaker than the stock speakers. Will sound a lot better just by replacing the speakers.

 

Check with the audio section. I think that they will tell you that the ohms are different in the stock speakers vs aftermarket ones. They will tell you that you can`t use aftermarket speakers with the Mach amps because they will sound like crap, no matter what the brand.

 

Aftermarket speakers 99% of the time are 4ohm. the stock ones are 2ohm,so aftermarket's wont work with the stock amps. believe me i know this,i have Polk Speakers

 

why did they make the mach system so retarded? I mean it sounds pretty decent, but if you ever want to upgrade you have just about re-wire the whole freakin car to change anything.

 

Yup!, you have to cut the stock amps out of the system. That includes the newer Mach system also. Sucks don`t it ?[&:]

Rip it all out.. Get a nice set of Alpine Components w/ the 6.5 adaptor plate and the Rockford 400-4 and rewire all of it! And then if it's not enough kick then throw in a nice 10 and be done with it..... MACH"S SUCKS
