Default Sad Day... Need a quote on the mustang...

Well, seeing as I'm getting rid of it within the next month, I'm going to get yalls opinion on how much I should try to sell mine for. Now, I know it depends on the location of where you live...so I live in Florida, so add about one ortwo thousand extra to what'd you'd quote for other states.

1999 Ford Mustang GT
94,000 miles
Lowered, 18" Saleens
Newly rebuilt transmission
Nice condition, interior is perfect, exterior has a few scratches (no dents)
New clutch
Typhoon intake manifold (I know you wouldn't normally list it, but it cost me 1k out the door (had some problems))

And a bunch of small stuff I don't feel like listing, just added stuff.

All in all I have around 17k in it... paid 9,500 for it a little over a year ago with 83,000 miles (stupid florida prices)

Mainly looks like a teenagers car (cause I'm a teen...) but it's one of the top 5 mustangs in my city... The only other that beats it is a Saleen extreme and a 700+RWHP Cobra...

Thanks for all input... Be honest

Btw, this is what's replacing the stang.

yea... I'd figure about 8.5-10.5 PUSHING it.... expect about a solid 9.5k... and worse comes to worse settle for 8.5... but nothing lower.

lol +1 and the dealer marks it up for the detailing and any repairs that were made.. private party sale id guess $8,500. You usually dont get your money back from anything other than new paint or new tires. $9000 if you find an eager teen with parents money.

My brother (in Silver Springs, FL) just bought a '99 35th Anniversary model in nice shape with 113k miles for $5800, I paid $12k for my '03 GT with 30k miles on it last December--both private sales, cash, with motivated sellers...

You guys think it'd be smarter to try to trade it in? Buying a truck tomorrow from a dealer, that's why she's gotta go anyways... =(

It's never smarter to trade it in. But it is easier.

+1, you will not get as much real value (they can play with the numbers and make the listed value of the trade be whatever you'd like it to be) as you would selling it--however selling a higher value, older, used car in the classifieds is not easy. The people looking in that vintage/price range generally don't have $7k or $8k in cash lying around which really reduces the potential buyer pool, also many buyers are put off by aftermarket mods. I generally keep the OEM parts and put the car back as close to stock as I can before I sell, the goodies go on eBay...
