Technically gears don't give you power... only make you feel like you've gained power with the quicker rpms.

Most say 4.10s are a perfect compromise between daily driving and track.
I can't say anything personally because I don't have gears.

Others will surely have an input

Automatic 4:10 Manual 3:73 ofcourse this would be for an everyday car which would give you more oomph and not destroy your mileage

I think 3.90s are perfect for a 5sp car. Nice compromise between 3.73s and 4.10s.

Gearsimprove yourmechanical leverage. Yes, they get you into the power band faster, but they also take you out of it faster. It's about the leverage, which translates to increased torque to the wheels. So in a way gears DO make more power (torque in this case). It's just not made at the flywheel.

Higher ratio gears multiply torque, however they do not increase horsepower in any way.Horsepower is a measurement of torque applied over a period of time. This is the measurement of work performed,or horsepower.
Torque is a measurement of twisting force applied to an object. If the object moves there's horsepower that can be measured. If it remains stationary there's no horsepower produced.
