Default Shift light

Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to install a 5" tach with a shift light? I want to put one on but I am unsure on how to do it and how hard and long this will take.

Thanks for the help.

I'm pretty sure you will need a tach adapter so that it can read the COP signal. Other than that it is a fairly straight forward install. Your time will be mostly in the tach adapter install.

So long as you get the proper tach you don't need any sort of adapter. My raptor shift light was a one wire splice (plus power and ground) deal.

5 inch tach FTL though... too ricy. Just get a shift light and some new gauges for the speedo/tach you have now.

Isn't there a tach in your gauge cluster?

Leave the 5" tach on the shelf. They just look too ricey.
All you need is the shift light, and Raptor has just the thing you want.

I have one in my car mounted on the steering column so that it shines right at me when it activates. This allows me to concentrate on driving the car instead of trying to read a tach while driving like a maniac with another driver doing the same thing a few feet away.
Besides, everyone who sees the shift light asks why I would have such a thing.Everyone knows what a 5" tach is good for[:'(],and so don't the cops.A shift light isn't that noticeable.

My opinion: put that Raptor shift light inside your vents. I've seen that done before and I'm pretty sure the light is bright enough to get your attention. That way, it isn't taking up any space in your car and no one knows about it. That's what I plant to do when the time comes.
