saw another guy post on this and didnt want to rape his post...so...whats the best models of detectors? i know its probably all a matter of opinion but i want to know which are def. crap! lol and what about laser scramblers, or w/e theyre called. are they just crap too? never had one so i dont know what to expect with the radar detectors. i know this post prolly shouldnt be here, but where else????[X(]

IMHO,radar detectors are a waste of hard earned cash. There's a hold switch on the radar system at the department im about to work at,you hide,flip the switch to hold,and your radar is basically on"standby" mode. flip it off as soon as you see the car and they're busted. Ah,i really don't see myself writing any tickets to Mustangs though..unless of course they're riced out [:'(]

don't work there yet..still in the Army for another month..but it's in Texas..which i must say has the best law enforcement officers...didn't realize it till i lived in this hellhole (Ft.Campbell,KY/Clarksville,TN),i don't know where the heck they find these guys that enforce the laws around here...

I have the Escort Passport one. Have had it for several years. Works great. The only thing I like more about the Valentine (my friend has one) is that it tells you the direction from where the radar is coming from. Both are a good choice in my opinion. They are good enough to pick up signals from far ahead of you bouncing off of other cars. Even if they are using the "hold switch" it will let you know something is up.
