Got 6 Speed????
Has anyone swapped their tranny for a 6 speed? If so, what is the biggest difference, what all needs to be done and most important, how much did everything cost. I've been tossing around the idea of making that my next major move. What do you guys think?
i think its a good idea.. i think the 6 speed you can drive conservatively and keep the rpms even lower than the 5 speed.. but i dont know how often youd use 6th gear? maybe for 100+ but at that point you dont want to shift and leave the powerband.
i think the 6 speed would really be complimented by some 4.30's and from what i understand, they are 10x better that what you guys got from ford (clunky *** 5 speeds)

Actually the 6th gear is very close to our fifth gear. I think the 6th is a .64 and our fifth is a .67 or .68. the ratios are just closer together so you spend more time in your powerband.

The number of input rotations compaired to output rotations. So technically it is 0.67 engine rotation :1 drive shaft roatation . Similar to the way rear gears are rated.
Stock rear end gears = 3.27 rotations of the drive shaft would be equal to 1 rotation of the wheels. So its 3.27:1
