Default Part Install Prices/Pics

I am going to let a shop install my H pipe, catback and springs since I don't really have the tools available to do it myself. Are these prices good?

Springs - $175
Exhaust - $250

I am getting it dyno tuned while there for $300 so all in all it will be $725 for everything. Does that sound about right to you all?

On a side note, I got my car detailed. Here is a link to some crappy pics that I took when I got her home. It was getting dark so they didn't come out very well. I hope to get better ones today when the sun is still out. Gotta put my tints back on my lights, too.

Thanks!

I'd say buy the tools and do it yourself.. springs can be done with a friend all you need is a jack stand, floor jacks, a tire iron and spring compression tool (can be borrow from an autozone for around $5)
and while your under it do exhaust.
granted this might take you a full day since its a first time but trust me its not that bad... the question is whats your important
1 day your time > 725??

for the record im installing coil overs, shocks, c/c plates and bushing on saturday... so im not just talking out of my ***

I only paid $100 to have my midpipe and catback installed. Like you, I didnt have the tools/space available to do it. I think you could prolly get it done for less, but then all of that for 725 doesnt sound bad, especially since youre getting tuned.

Thanks!
Thats a reasonable install on the springs, i got my done for $200 as for the exhaust its not crazy high or anything but you might be able to find a better deal. I had my midpipe and mufflers changed out w/ a custom fitting for my mufflers because they are center in/center out for $100.

Thanks for the tips. I think I'm just gonna have it done professionally. Hell, it took me 4 hours to install my shifter so I think it might take more than a day for the springs and exhaust [&o]

Are you doing the front or rear springs? Or all four? If it's all four, then unless you have someone help you, just pay to have it done. But the H pipe can be done with regular toos and an extension. Every guy should have some of those lying around. Might save some money

Wow!! These are like three of the easiest ,mods you can do t oyour car. I guess if you got the money lying around then dont get your back dirty. From my point of view I see 725.00 towards something else to make me faster

I'm doing all four springs, H pipe, and catback. I wanted to get the tune to turn off the MIL so I figured I would get a dyno tune and make sure I get the most out of it. I would much rather do it but none of my friends are into cars and would rather watch football all day this weekend than help me out (dooshes).

I will be sure to post some pics and clips once it's done though.

I wouldn't get the tune yet. I bought MIL eliminators for like $50 to take care of the check engine light. I could be wrong but I don't think you will get much more out of your tune with just exhaust. I installed an o/r x pipe and catback about a month ago and have been running fine without a tune. I think most will suggest holding off on the tune until you get more mods. Spend 50 for the MIL's instead of $300 for the tune and save the extra 250 for something else.

Well I have the tuner and I got some mail order tunes but it made my car ping pretty badly and I even backed off the timing on the tune. I talked to some people from my local club and they suggested a shop for me to call and they said it would be best to have them do it so they can make sure nothing else is going on with the motor. I know it's not much to need a tune but the car just doesn't have the performance it used to since installing the JLT and mail order tune. I figured while they had my car for the dyno, they could throw on the exhaust and springs real quick since they do type of stuff everyday.

I also liked the fact that when I called, my eardrums were blown away from the sound of a fully modded 06 GT pulling on the dyno. The guy apologized for it but I told him that it sounded great.
