how would i know if mine has PI or not?

PI=Performance Improvement, usually when people say PI they are talking about the Heads. Pretty much the HP difference in the 96-98 GT's and the 99-04 GT's, along with the manifold.

96-98 GT's have NPI Heads, and the 99-04 GT's have PI heads.

P.S. Gotta search these kinda things[8D], its probably come up 1000000 times, just an fyi so someone doesnt bite your head off for asking before searching.
