Default ABS/Traction Control Help

My ABS light on my car is on and it also is not working. When the light came on my traction control stoped workin to. I pluged a scanner and tried to diagnose the light and it says it can not connect to the computer, but i can still run engine codes and what not. What could it be?

My ABS and traction control light both lit up after I finished a couple of dyno runs. I drove around for literately 1 minute and the lights turned off. Oh and before driving around I disconnected the battery for over 10 minutes. Give that a try

Dyno runs will do that because the front wheels are not turning and the dumb-a$$ ABS/TC computer thinks you are skidding or worse?--------------------GotBoost, Have you had any brake or axle work done recently? Could be an ABS sensor got damaged or pushed back out of position...

Most standard code readers cannot read ABS codes. You will need a specialty scanner for that.

The same problem occured on my 01 recently and it was a bad ABS module (read codes using a ford device.) I replaced the electronics only (so I didn't have to bleed the abs system) and the problem went away.

I think I might have the same problem....what did it cost you to diagnose and replace the module?

I am not sure what it might cost as I have access to a ford scanner at work.

I bought a module used off a forum for $75 and hoped for the best. Then, you can just swap the electronics and not the entire module (electronics just bolt on.) That way, you do not have to worry about bleeding the system. In my case, everything worked out perfect. My ABS light used to be on every day...now it hasn't come back on in over 2 months.

no the abs sensors at each wheel are still all good, I checked all 4 sensors and cleaned them and they are all still good. Where is the ABS module and all the other electronics so i could test it out. I cant afford to take it to the dealer or buy parts and guess and hope. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
