Default Non radial Front Skinny....

Has anyone here has had any handeling issues when using E/T Streets or Slicks in the back, and a non radial (I.E. M/T Sportsman) skinny tire in the front?

I know its not reccomended and its what I got for now.[:@][&:]

Your car isn't designed to handle

skinny's should only be used on the track. Think of it like this...Put two spare tires up front where all the weight is and tell me how you think your car will handle? Especially at highway speeds!!! I def. would not reccomend it. BFG DR's are actually meant for DD and have stiffer sidewalls than other DR's.

Hmmmmm...... What about if you had to make a quick correction while on the track? Like say if you poped a jaw dropping 4 feet wheelie and landed pointing at the crowd......... Would Radial Skinnies help anymore then say non radial bias skinnies?

I think you mean a radial front mixed with a bias rear. I have done this before and had no issues (E/T Street {not the E/T Street DR} in back and a regular radial in front). I am pretty sure that the sportsman front is a radial, I run the E/T Street Drag Radial in back with a sportsman front on the SS and I drive it all the time. The only thing you have to remember is that it won't stop as well and you can go flying around corners. Usually for guys with faster drag cars this is not a concern.

+1, I dont see any reason that having a bias in the back and raidial in the front or vice versa is going to do anything to hurt/help handling.

Skinnys simply do not handle at all. I definatly would not be driving with them anywhere but the track. It seems to me it would be pure sucide on the highway etc... you might have to do a quick lane change, or even just go around a corner too fast (even if it doesn't seem like it) and loose control. Skinnys are for the track only.

If your pointing at the crowd I don't think its going to matter what tire you have up front... your screwed anyway. Considering your going to move 60 feet in what, 1.5-2.0 seconds.... not exactly enough time to react and get the car to turn.

Regardless of what you think, its dangerous to run around on skinnys on the street. I want to see someone do a high speed lane change avoidance manuver with skinnys on... all your going to end up with is a ditched car and crap in your pants.

Hell, I could tell the difference "loss of control wise" between even the old 245s and the new 75s... let alone running a 4 inch wide tire on the front of a 3300 pound car.

Obey the posted speed limits, allow a little extra stopping distance, keep the skinnies inflated to max PSI. A 165R15 is well within the load limit of a Mustang BTW. Plus my skinnies won't hydro-plane like those OEM and larger size tires. I've driven with skinnies for probably 60K with no problems. Use you head and you'l be fine[8D]

How many PSI do you put your Front Skinnies at for the Track versus just Road Driving?
